Jain Shahi Paneer (Cottage Cheese in gravy)


Ingredients

  • 250 gms paneer 
  • 1 bell pepper (cut in big pieces)
For marination
  • 3/4 cup beaten, yogurt
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • A pinch salt
For dish
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 6oz tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp cashew 
  • 1" chopped, ginger
  • 2 chopped, green chillies
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp sugar taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
Method
Cut paneer into 2 inches lengthwise & marinate in spicy yogurt, adding all the ingredients mentioned in marination & set aside for 6-7 hrs in fridge. 

Heat some butter
Add ginger, green chilli, cashew powder, cardamom & bell-pepper fry for 4-5 minutes.
Add tomato puree and cook till oil starts seperating
Add marinated paneer and cook for another 5 -7 minutes.
Add garam masala, once it starts to boil
Add milk, coriander powder, sugar, salt to taste. 
Garnish with chopped coriander 
Serves    4
