Prawn Pot Pie
Ingredients
For dough
For dough
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, very-cold, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup ice water
For filling
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup small sized shrimps
- 2 tbsp corn
- 2 tbsp chopped carrot
- 2 tbsp chopped cauliflower
- 1 small onion chopped fine
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 2 finely chopped green chillies
- 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil
Method
For dough
Put all the ingredients except water in a food processor and pulse by adding little water at a time
Once dough is ready, remove and roll 2 sheets of 12 inch diameter
For filling
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the chillies, garlic & onions
Once the onions are browned, add the shrimps and fry
Add the rest of the vegetables and mix well.
Add water and bring to boil.
Mix paprika, salt & corn starch and add in.
Stir continuously to avoid forming any lumps
Let it simmer for 5 mins.
For the Pie
Preheat the oven to 425 deg C
Place 1 rolled sheet in the pie dish.
Let the filling cool and then pour into the pie dish
Place the other sheet over and press the edges together
Make slits in the top sheet to let the steam escape.
Place the dish in the oven for 30 mins or till the pie sheet browns
