Simply Dal



Ingredients 
  • 1 cup masoor dal
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • pinch asoeftida
  • 1 green chilli fine chopped
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1/2 onion fine chopped
  • 1/2 tomato fine chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander

Method

Mix masoor dal with salt & 3 cups water 
Cook in instant pot on high pressure for 10 mins

In a vessel heat butter
Add cumin seeds and let splutter.
Add onion, garlic, chillies and sauté.
Once brown add tomato, asoeftida, turmeric powder and saute 
Cook till tomato softens completely

Add in the dal and leave on sim till it boils.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice
