Chicken Curry



Ingredients

For ground paste
  • 1/4 sliced onion 
  • 5 cloves
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup dry desiccated coconut
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp red chili powder (increase depending on required spice level)
For Dish
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 1/4 onion chopped fine
  • 2 pound chicken
  • 2 tsp salt 
Method


Fry Sliced onion, 3 cloves, 3 peppers & cinnamon stick
Once the onion becomes brown add the coconut
Fry till well browned and add poppy seeds, coriander, 1/2 spoon jeera, 1/2 spoon red chilli powder
Saute for a min and then grind mix with minimum water to make a thick paste. 


Heat oil in a pot and add ginger-garlic paste and the finely chopped onions
Once the onions are soft add chicken and fry
Add ground paste and mix
Add 1 cup water and bring boil.
Add salt as per taste, cover the pot and let it simmer for 20 mins
