Butter Chicken
For Marination
1 lb boneless chicken pieces cut into thin strips
1/2 cup thick yogurt
1/2 tspn ginger paste
1/2 tspn garlic paste
1 tspn chilli powder
1 tspn Salt
For Gravy
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 tbsp ginger paste
1/2 tspn garlic paste
3 roma tomatoes
2 tbsp cashews
2 tspn kasoori methi crushed into a powder
2 tspn kitchen king masala
1/2 tspn chili powder
1/2 cup fresh cream
2 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp salt
finely chopped coriander for garnishing
Method
Mix all the ingredients for marination and keep aside for atleast an hour
Heat half of the butter and fry the marinated chicken till partially done. Take out on a plate and keep aside.
Boil tomatoes with minimal water & 1/2 tsp salt
Grind the tomatoes with cashews into a thick paste.
Heat remaining butter and add onions, ginger, garlic and fry till onions turn translucent.
Add chili powder, garam masala and kasoori methi.
Add tomato & cashew paste, salt, chicken pieces.
Cover and cook till the gravy thickens.
Pour cream and cook for 1-2mins.
Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
