Paneer Makhani


Ingredients


For Marination
1 lb cubed paneer
1/2 cup thick yogurt
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp salt

For Gravy
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1/2 tsp garlic paste
2 roma tomatoes
2 tbsp cashews
2 tspn kasoori methi crushed into a powder
2 tspn garam masala
1/2 cup fresh cream
2 tbsp butter
finely chopped coriander for garnishing

Method

Mix all the ingredients for marination and keep aside for atleast an hour

Heat half of the butter and fry the marinated paneer. Take out on a plate and keep aside.

Boil tomatoes with minimal water
Grind the tomatoes with cashews into a thick paste.

Heat remaining butter and add onions, ginger, garlic and fry till onions turn translucent.
Add chili powder, garam masala and kasoori methi.
Add tomato & cashew paste, paneer pieces.
Cover and cook till the gravy thickens.
Pour cream and cook for 1-2mins.
Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.

Cooking time: 30 mins (except marination)
