Potato au Gratin

Ingredients
2 lb golden potatoes
2.5 cups heavy cream
1.5 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1.5 cup grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

Method
Peel and chop potatoes into thin slices

Heat oven to 350 deg F.
In a bowl mix heavy cream, salt & pepper
Grease a 1.5 quart dish with butter
In the dish arrange potatoes in a single layer, overlapping each other at the edge
Sprinkle part of the cheese and pour some cream.
Repeat layers of potato, cheese & cream.

Bake in oven for 60 mins till the top layer is browned.
Take out, and let set for 10 mins before serving.

Notes
for a tangy twist, 
Slice 2 jalapeƱos
Remove the seeds and chop into fine pieces. 
Sprinkle some in every layer.
