Cobi Matar Bhaaji (Cabbage Peas Saute)

Ingredients


  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 tsp moong dal
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • strand of kadipatta (curry leaves)
  • 2 sliced chilies
  • 2 cups finely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup peas
Method

Put oil in vessel and heat.
Add the moong dal, mustard seeds, turmeric and curry leaves
Once they splutter, add chilies, peas & cabbage
Keep on sim and cook covered till cabbage and peas are soft.

I prefer the crunchy taste of cabbage so I take it off the heat early. If you prefer very soft cooked bhaaji, cook covered till cabbage starts turning slightly brown.
