Chocolate Glazed Donut (baked)




Ingredients
1.5 tsp melted unsalted butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup buttermilk (or 1/2 cup milk mixed with 1 tsp vinegar)

1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp salt

For Glaze
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/8 cup milk



Method
Preheat oven to 325 deg F

In a bowl melt butter
Break in the egg, add vanilla & buttermilk
Whip to a frothy mix

Add in the flour, sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder & salt
Mix till well integrated

Spray a donut pan. See notes for ideas if you don’t have one handy
Pour the batter about 1/4 full
Bake for 10 mins

Take out and let cool

Glaze
Whip sugar and milk together to make a thick glaze
After the donuts have cooled for 5 mins, dip the tops in the glaze
Let it dry for 5 mins and serve


Notes
If you don’t have a donut pan handy, here is a trick to using a muffin pan
Make 4 inch long strip of aluminum foil
Wrap it around your finger to make a cylinder
Place these in the muffin moulds and put the batter around them
