Chocolate Butter cookies


Ingredients 
1/2 cup softened butter
2/3 cup sugar

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/8 cup all purpose flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

chocolate chips brown or white optional


Method

Preheat oven to 375 deg F

In a large bowl cream butter and sugar till smooth

Add in the egg and whip well

Stir in the vanilla 


In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients- flour, cocoa powder, baking soda & salt

Slowly integrate into the creamed butter


Make small balls, flatten slightly and place on a cookie sheet. Space them out because as they bake, they will spread.




You can press in a chocolate chip on each cookie if desired


Bake for 10 mins for a chewy center

Increase by 2 mins for a crunchy cookie


Take out and let cool if you can resist them or enjoy them warm
