Zhatpat Masoor Tonak (Lentils in coconut milk)
Ingredients
1 small onion
1 medium sized potato
1 cup whole masoor
1 cup coconut milk
Ball of tamarind
1 tbsp garam masala
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp salt
Method
Chop onion into very fine pieces
Chop potato into chunky pieces
Clean and wash the masoor

Put all the listed ingredients in a pressure cooker
Add 3 cups water
Close and cook for 5 whistles
Add 3 cups water

Instapot method
Put all the listed ingredients in atheism instapot
Add 3 cups water
Close and cook on high pressure for 15 mins
Garnish with coriander and serve with chapatis or dosa
Note:
1. You can add 1/2 cup shrimp in the cooker with the rest of the ingredients.
2. Tastes just like the traditional masoor and can be made in minutes!
